The Pc Expertise (CT) program has been developed to offer training in the ideas underlying the design of modern laptop systems. Primarily based on the Intel 8008 microprocessor, the Micral is among the earliest commercial, non-equipment personal computers. Designer Thi Truong developed the pc while Philippe Kahn wrote the software program. Truong, founder and president of the French firm R2E, created the Micral as a replacement for minicomputers in conditions that didn’t require excessive efficiency, reminiscent of course of control and freeway toll collection. Promoting for $1,750, the Micral never penetrated the U.S. market. In 1979, Truong bought R2E to Bull.
